Malmöfestivalen 2019
It's a wrap. Malmöfestivalen 2019 is officially over and of course I've been there to cover it for the fourth (!) year in a row. Malmöfestivalen started in 1985 and has around 1.4 million visitors every year. Malmöfestivalen is completely FREE for everyone and provides their guests with music, fashion shows, dance preformances, roller coasters, art and much more for a whole week in Malmö city. This year Malmöfestivalen had a solid lineup with artist/bands like JOY, Fricky, Danko Jones, Movits, The Sounds, Afrojack and Veronica Maggio.
JOY, swedish artist from Stehag, Sweden, was one of the first to preform on the big stage during the first day. She had a few special guests whit her like her sister and Panda Da Panda. Her preformance was super energetic and she had some good props with her on stage. A true power woman!
Someone I know a lot of people were excited about was Veronica Maggio, Swedens pop queen. I'm very happy about her preformance, she managed to keep a good balance between some of her new songs and old hits.
unfortunately the headlining DJ who was supposed to wrap the entire festival cancelled last minute but luckily was replaces by Otto Knows, which wasn't too bad after all. Knows did a great job and had an amazing preformance with some extra stage effects like smoke, fire and confetti.
Let's talk about something else important other than the musik, the food! I'm usually not the one who buys lots of food at Malmöfestivalen due the prices, yes it can be a bit overpriced. I think the only thing I tried this year was the mini pancakes which were 10/10 even though the portion was a bit small. But I can truly say that Malmöfestivalen always provides good food and have somethig for every one, the buss area of Gustav Adolfstorg is full of food courts and trucks which we love! There was also A LOT more seats than last year so yoy could fully enjoy your meal.
From my point of view I expereinced the festival a lot more cleaner this year, I saw a lot more trash cans than any other year and there was people constanly making sure every area was garbage free.
Overall I would say this was another succsessful year for Malmö and excited to see what they'll bring in 2020.
