Let me tell you, I'm usually not one who fangirl over getting to shoot a concert, but when I got the opportunity to shoot Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes- I did (a bit)
yes yes yes, a personal favorite of mine as you can already tell. I've been at one of their shows before in Stockholm but this november I was in Copenhagen to shoot their End of Suffering tour.
First of all, it was in Amager Bio which is one of the best venues in Copenhagen whith a capacity for around 1300 people.
The opening act for Frank & Co was Hastings basted Kid Kapichi that I had a quick listen to a few days before the show. I'm not gonna lie they didn't got me in the first listen but after seeing them live I started to enjoy their music a lot more and they're pretty catchy and not to mention that the guys are super friendly themselves. 8/10 a solid opening act.
But to what we all came for, Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes. They're simply doing it better than ever. They kicked off their set with their song "why a butterfly can't love a sprider" from their latest album (which might be the best one so far). One thing I love especially with their shows is that they wanna get as close to the audience as possible. Barrier? We don't know him. They crowdsurf, sing and dance with their fans during the entire night. If you're looking for a show where the audience truly get involved, this is it!
Anyhow, I'm super pleased with their set, they managed to get a good mix of songs from all of their albums. I couldn't ask for a better setlist and I know a lot of fans who could agree with me on that note.
Any complains? Yes one. From a photographers perspective the lightning wasn't the greatest but that didn't make the show expereice any worse.
